Jio Home TV Service Will Offer HD Channels at Rs. 400 Per Month: Report

As per a report by TelecomTalk, the Mukesh Ambani-back company is planning to soon launch its new Jio Home TV service that is said to be a modified version of the Jio Broadcast app, which was recently being tested for streaming HD content on select devices. According to the report, the operator will roll out this feature for all its users, with a rebranded version called Jio Home TV. Do note, however, that this piece of news comes from an unconfirmed source and might not be completely accurate.

eMBMS is said to be a hybrid technology that combines the capabilities of TV channel and radio architecture to create a scalable solution for providing HD content in high volumes. Further, an active Internet connection will not be required for accessing this content as most of it will be placed in broadcast mode for offline access. An apparent confirmation from Jio comes through Reliance Industries’ third quarter report that specified the testing of Jio’s eMBMS testing pan-India.

Earlier this month, Reliance Jio had announced the deployment of Massive MIMO pre-5G/ 4G technology at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium and Delhi’s Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium to offer high speed Internet access and enhance user experience during IPL 2018.

Nokia X (2018) receives 3C certification, leaked poster reveals April 27 launch

After launching a series of Nokia phones like Nokia 8 Sirocco, Nokia 7 Plus, Nokia 6 (2018) and Android Go edition Nokia 1, looks like HMD Global has already started working on its next device. Going by a report, the next phone by HMD Global will be the Nokia X or Nokia 10 which will come with a budget price tag. The smartphone has already received 3C certification in China, which hints at the imminent launch of the phone. HMD Global may launch the Nokia X on April 27, reveals a report coming from Nokiamob.net.

According to the report, a Nokia phone with model number TA-1099 passed 3C certification site in China. This device is expected to be Nokia X. As of now, not a lot is known about the Nokia X, apart from the fact that it won’t be a flagship device. Nokia 9 is expected to be the next flagship by HMD Global.

The 3C certification listing reveals some specification details about the Nokia X. The listing reveals that the upcoming Nokia X will come with a regular 10W charger, this means that the phone will feature a standard charger output of 5V/2A. This means that the new Nokia X will not come with fast charging ability as teased previously. The Nokia X with a 5V/2A charger means that the phone will be no new device instead will just be a spiritual successor of the original X model which was launched in 2014.

Details of the Nokia X are scarce at the moment. In the past, the Nokia X was spotted with two model numbers TA-1099 and TA-1109. This hints that HMD Global may launch the Nokia X or Nokia 10 in two variants. The 3C certification doesn’t reveal any further information about the Nokia X apart from details related to TD-LTE and the charger.

The ad showcased two phones crossing each to form the letter X. It is worth noting that HDM Global is yet to reveal details about the Nokia X or Nokia 10 launch timeline.

According to past rumours, Nokia X will be a compact device and will come with an affordable price tag. In terms of specs, the Nokia X is expected to come in two variants (as mentioned above). Reports reveal, one out of the two Nokia X models will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, while the second model will be backed by a MediaTek Chipest.
